"Ode on solitude" by Alexander pope

Hello reader...
welcome to my blog...

  • Alexander pope:-

Alexander pope was 18th century English poet, best known for his satirical verse and for his translation of Homer. Ode on solitude is a poem by Alexander pope, written when he  was 12 year old and widely included in anthologies. Pop is famous for his use of the Heroic couplet. Pope was born to Alexander pope senior, Lenin percent of plough court, Lombard Street, London.

  • Poem :-

This stanza also implies that this farmer has no living family. It seems as through this man is so used to being alone that he makes no effort to change that because it has worked for him for so long. This solitude could also be an allusion to pope'd own love life because he never got married during his life.

  • Structure:-

Alexander used very simple language, structure and ideas in this poem to communicate the thoughts of a solitary, but not a lonely farmer. He also expressed his own desire to experience some of life the way that this man does. Additionally, he intentionally leaves out certain statements that would make this description of farmer's life complete, such as mention of other family to demonstrate the degree of interesting secrecy that draws pope to thinking about this kind of lifestyle. He  effectively implements variety of simple elements to successfully communicate the meaning of "Ode on solitude".

Thank you...
