William Wordsworth was famous for "Lyrical Ballads" during 17th century. " Lyrical Ballads" was combination of creative and difference poems by William Wordsworth and Samuel Coleridge. We can see in that collection When Wordsworth and Coleridge written "Lyrical Ballads" that time started french revolution. So, mostly they have reflected influence of french revolution, here we don't discussion about french revolution but some point of view about poem, poet, poetic diction with example, So let's start...
Que.:-1) What is the basic difference between the poetic creed of "Classicism" and " Romanticism"?
Ans.:-
- Imagination and Intellectual:-
Classical poets have thought power but they don't believed in imagination. They live in reality and also written current condition. They all are give important intellectualism rather than imagination. But poet of romantics always supported imagination. They try to give new thing and theme of the that times society through imagination.
- Medieval and Classical:-
During this time Classical poets has not another ways so they followers to master and intellectual poets and writers like as, Aristotle, Socrates and Plato. But according to my point of view that Romantic poets followers to medieval poets and writers like as, Geoffrey Chaucer, Dante Alighieri and Walter Raleigh.
Romanticism was feel they are free to express in simple manner. T hey don't follow classical manner of poem.
Que.:-2) Why does Wordsworth say "What is poet?" rather than "Who is poet?"
Ans.:-
According to Wordsworth that he wants to wrote that poems and also lyrical ballads in the language really used by man.According to Coleridge that he also asked questions on poetic diction like as, What do you actually mean by language really used by man? What reality? Which man?...etc. Wordsworth answered of those questions like as, He finds humble and rustic life to be with emotions. He seldom says that a poet was comprehensive, a better human being.
Que.:-3) What is poetic diction? Which sort of poetic diction is suggested by Wordsworth in his preface?
Ans.:-
Wordsworth also give attention upon what is poet? rather than who is poet? because he he thinks that art and role of poet. He endowed with more lively sensibility, enthusiasm, tenderness, he has greater knowledge of human nature. Poet also try to creates the things which was not exist. The poet was who rejoices more than other men other men in spirit of life.
Que.:-4) What is poetry?
Ans.:-
According to Wordsworth poetry is given happiness and it related to feeling and emotion of human.Wordsworth was only one poet who takes definition of poetry after Dryden in his Preface.
Que.:-5) Discuss "Daffodils"- I wandered lonely as a cloud" with reference to Wordsworth's poetic creed.
Ans.:-
"Daffodils" was written by William Wordsworth in 1804. In this poem divided in 4 stanzas. The inspiration for the poem came from a walk Wordsworth took with his sister Dorothy around Glycogen Bay. In this poem is good example of nature poem, arrangement of words and use of simple grammar.in this poem connected with vanishes and spontaneity of happiness comes again. We can see that Wordsworth try to used of natural thing in his poem and poetry. He includes natural things like as, cloud, vales, hills,lake,trees...etc.
